Which resort in France offers husky rides ?

WHICH FRANCE?

Are you dreaming of a new adventure combining thrills, the joys of snow and contact with animals? Now is the time to organise a sled dog expedition! A unique and unforgettable experience awaits you. Where to go sleddog riding in France? Many ski resorts in the Alps, the Pyrenees or the Jura offer dog sledding tours.

THE DIFFERENT BREEDS OF SLED DOG

There are many breeds of sled dogs. Each one of them has particular qualities that contribute to the good balance of a team. Here are the four breeds most often selected for winter expeditions:

The Alaskan Malamute: with a powerful constitution, the Malamute has a large build which gives it the ability to pull heavy loads. However, it is not the fastest species, and it is therefore rather its power that is sought after. Generally endowed with a dominant character, the Malamute is covered with a dense coat which gives it an excellent resistance to cold.

The Siberian Husky: Unlike the Malamute, but nevertheless resolutely complementary, the Husky is an ace of speed. Sprinter, climber, he combines speed with resistance. It is a true racing dog whose grace and beauty are undeniable.

Greenlandic: The Greenlandic is positioned between the Malamute and the Husky, it is the sled dog which offers the best compromise between speed and power. Very muscular, he is renowned for his powerful jaw.

The Samoyed: Selected more for his character than for his performance, the Samoyed is both an excellent guard dog and a pleasant and constant companion.
