Le Grand Bornand, an exceptional natural environment

In the heart of the French Alps, discover a true jewel case of unique and preserved nature. Le Grand-Bornand is an unmissable ski village that harmoniously blends authenticity, Haut-Savoyard charm and arty chic. It is the meeting of a sporting spirit, enduring traditions and a need for snowy adventures. Located in Haute-Savoie, the Grand-Bornand resort is situated on the Aravis mountain range. This pretty mountain village plunges you into an idyllic universe for your holidays.

The oldest chalet of Grand-Bornand was built in 1664 and the first tourist hotels appeared in 1920. If agricultural activity brought the valley to life at the beginning of the 20th century thanks to the breeding and manufacture of reblochon, it was not until 1923 that the first amateur skiers appeared with the creation of the Bornandin skiers' society. In 1945, the resort created the Société Anonyme du téléski du Grand-Bornand to exploit the land and in 1953, Pomagalski opened its first ski lift.

Classified as a winter sports and mountaineering resort since 1968, Le Grand Bornand is a destination with a 2,752-metre-high peak, La Pointe Percée. Combining land rich in history, agro-pastoral activity and mountaineering, the resort has several economic pillars and its tourist vocation has enabled the development of the entire valley.

Known for its cultural spirit, the Grand-Bornand resort invites you to live a truly creative experience from the moment you arrive. Dozens of works of art are exhibited all over the resort to pay tribute to local heritage figures. In addition, many craftsmen and ambassadors of forgotten trades shape the life of the resort. Finally, 55 cabins have been customised to give life to a real travelling art gallery, representing the history of the resort.

A true way of life, Nordic skiing is at the heart of life in the resort.
