Large areas of freedom of sliding await you in the valley of the Haute-Maurienne. The resort of Valfréjus was founded in 1983 above the town of Modane. This friendly and pioneering ski resort owes its name to the Franco-Italian Fréjus massif. The Modanese are innovative and avant-garde with the creation of ski jumping and bobsleigh competitions. The first sports club was created in 1920 and the destination quickly became famous for its quality of snow and cross-border location. At the end of the 1960s, the first ski lifts were built to satisfy a wider clientele and reach the summits.

Valfréjus, a land of new snow sports, combines dynamism, modernity and innovation with skwal and speed-riding. In addition, it also offers helicopter drop-offs to hurtle down the virgin slopes of Italy and make your own tracks.

Valfréjus is a family and nature ski resort where wooden chalets and preserved forests blend harmoniously. Bordering Italy, this resort is part of the Espace Haute-Maurienne Vanoise (EHMV) which groups together all the alpine ski resorts in the valley. Between relaxation, nature and après-ski activities, come and discover this natural setting nestled in the Maurienne.

Offering more than 70 km of slopes, the ski area of Valfréjus is a playground that is perfect for the most demanding skiers. Composed of three large sectors, you will evolve on the Arrondaz plateau, the Punta Bagna sector and the Pas du Roc sector. Thanks to its innovative and high-performance ski lifts, Valfréjus has modernised its ski area in order to offer you a unique skiing experience. Nestled at an altitude of 1550 metres, this resort in the Haute-Maurienne and its summit at 2737 m offers you an incredible panorama of the Valley.

With its 80 snow canons in high season, Valfréjus ensures you an incredible snow cover throughout the winter to take full advantage of its varied slopes. Moreover, its proximity to Italy allows it to benefit from a geographical location favourable to "return from the East" and large quantities of snow.

Whatever your level of skiing, the resort has blue runs but also more committed runs or powder fields. Renowned for its virgin slopes, the resort of Valfréjus will meet the expectations of lovers of fresh snow. In a magical setting, powder lovers will find their happiness in the freeride areas of the resort.

For thrill seekers, the Piste du Jeu is 13 km long! This blue piste is accessible to all levels and offers almost 1200 m of vertical drop. Along the descent, you will discover a multitude of landscapes for a unique skiing experience in the Valley.

A real cradle of new glides, get a lot of thrills in Valfréjus with the speed-riding school! Equipped with a paraglider, you alternate skiing and flying thanks to this spectacular discipline. In addition, discover the Bob Park for unforgettable family moments. This scripted toboggan run with tunnels and steep bends stretches over 2 km in a western atmosphere and open at night.
