Les 2 Alpes
Les 2 Alpes: the biggest glacier in Europe
Located in the department of Isère, in the Ecrins massif between the villages of Mont de Lans and Venosc, the resort of Les 2 Alpes is known for its sporting and trendy spirit. Known worldwide for its natural snow and its glacier culminating at an altitude of 3,600 metres, come and live a unique sliding experience between the Northern and Southern Alps. Built in 1946, Les 2 Alpes was originally a land for cattle breeding. The first hostel to accommodate tourists was built in 1934, but it was only in 1946 that the very first ski lift was built. The name of the resort is inspired by its geolocation, between the Alpe de Mont de Lans and the Alpe de Venosc. In 1973, summer skiing was launched thanks to the snow cover on the glacier and the construction of the Le Jandri gondola lift.
Les Deux Alpes is also known for having organised many international sporting events, such as the Mondial du Ski, the Mondial du Snowboard or the Kumi Yama on the snowpark. From Powder Week to the Rise Festival, the resort attracts more and more skiers from all over the world every year. And in January, don't miss the Tout Schuss Cup, a speed ski race with ski champion Marion Rolland! With the largest skiable glacier in Europe, Les 2 Alpes offers you a great breath of fresh air and unique sliding experiences for your skiing holidays!
LES 2 ALPES: AN EXCEPTIONAL SKI AREA
With its direct access to the glacier via the new Pierre Grosse gondola lift, the ski area of Les 2 Alpes perfectly combines modernity and the pleasure of skiing. A real paradise for all ski and snowboard enthusiasts, it covers 398 hectares with 255 snow guns and 90 runs for all levels.
Every Thursday, the resort of Les 2 Alpes offers you a snow groomer ride to discover the profession and explore the ski area in a different light! You can also ski at night on the Lutins piste and admire the sunset for an atypical experience. To discover the profession of tracker, the resort organizes throughout the season "Ski First Track". Accompanied by a tracker, you discover the backstage of the ski area by opening the ski slopes! Ice climbing and snowshoe hiking are proposed to you at the guides' office for new experiences in the powder fields and on the most beautiful tracks of the Oisans.
2 ALPES SNOWPARK: THE FREESTYLE PARADISE
