La Joue du Loup : The beauty of Hautes-Alpes
Located in the heart of the Southern Alps, the ski resort of La Joue du Loup is part of the large ski area of the Dévoluy with SuperDévoluy. This village resort has kept its authentic charm thanks to its pretty wooden chalets and cosy atmosphere. Its typical mountain architecture plunges you into a magical world for your winter sports holidays. In winter, the resort offers you a wide range of sports activities for moments of relaxation and well-being. In summer, the ski slopes are transformed into mountain bike trails and also offers pony rides, forest trails and a large leisure base for the whole family.
Throughout the winter season, numerous sporting events punctuate the life of the resort of La Joue du Loup. In December, come and take part in the Dévoluy winter rally and the federal cross-country ski race. In March, you can attend the young freestyle ski criterium on the Dévoluy snowpark and the Dévoluy derby in a friendly atmosphere with guaranteed laughs!
Le Dévoluy, a natural setting
The Dévoluy massif includes two ski resorts, Superdévoluy and La Joue du Loup. Located only 2h30 from Lyon and Marseille, this high-alpine ski area enjoys exceptional sunshine throughout the season. From 1500 to 2500 meters of altitude, come and discover a large playground with nearly 100 km of slopes. Its wild environment will seduce all lovers of nature and wide open spaces. Endowed with a specific and mineral geology, the massif is nicknamed "Little Dolomites". Sport, relaxation and the pleasure of snow sports will make you thrill throughout your stay. 300 km² of surface area, 30 villages and hamlets, 56 slopes, Le Dévoluy is a ski area that plunges you into a real natural setting. With a high point at 2790 metres, l'Obiou offers a breathtaking view of the whole Dévoluy massif.
Finally, at the top of the ridges is the NOEMA (Nothern Extended Millimeter Array) Observatory, equipped with the most powerful radio telescope in the northern hemisphere. Nestling on the Pic de Bure at 2709 metres, it benefits from an absence of light pollution. Its multiple mobile telescopes make it possible to explore the universe and the galaxies on the top of the Bure plateau. In the Dévoluy, you can also discover the resort of Orcières-Merlette in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes or dive into the modern resort of Risoul.
La Joue du Loup: a wide variety of glides
A large Nordic area is offered to you on the Dévoluy massif with many cross-country and skating loops. With its 30 km of tracks and numerous trails, you will be immersed in a rich and diversified natural environment. Beautiful snowshoe walks await you and will allow you to discover snowy forest trails in a wild and preserved environment. For those who are keen on ski touring, several marked and secure spots are accessible with a succession of valleys and crests. In an atypical powder landscape, you can enjoy beautiful hikes on the summits with a breathtaking panorama!
For the most adventurous, come and discover the hikes in buggy, an all-purpose vehicle to discover the powder fields! Also test the Fat Bike, this electric bike with very wide wheels to venture on the steepest terrain. With your hair in the wind, the resort offers the Snowkite, a mix between snowboarding and paragliding to discover new sliding sensations. Finally, the quadbike will seduce all the adventurers, with their feet on the pedals. Mix between quad and mountain bike, you can enjoy fun rides in an idyllic setting.

Come to La Joue du Loup
To reach the ski resort by car, you can take the A51 from Marseille to Gap, or via the A6 from Lyon and then the A48. You can follow the famous Route Napoléon, the N85 towards Le Dévoluy. Throughout the winter season, shuttle buses run between Marseille-Provence airport and the railway stations of Aix-en-Provence, Gap and Veynes.
