The Chamonix Valley has always attracted mountaineering enthusiasts and lovers of wide open spaces. In 1741, two Englishmen set out to conquer the glaciers. How to come to Chamonix Argentiere?

From the airports of Geneva (88 km), Lyon-Saint-Exupéry (220 km) and Haute-Savoie Mont Blanc airport (90 km), coach and train connections are available to reach the valley. The Mont Blanc Express SNCF railway station is regularly served, and the Léman Express cross-border network provides a link between Switzerland and France. Finally, Chamonix Argentière is accessible by road via the Autoroute Blanche (A40). From Italy, the Mont-Blanc tunnel is only 15 km from the border. And from Switzerland, the Col de la Forclaz and the Col des Montets allow easy access to the Chamonix valley.
