La Rosière: on the Italian border

Located a few kilometers from the Col du Petit Saint-Bernard and the Italian border, the resort of La Rosière guarantees you a unique stay. Perched at 1,850 metres above sea level, it is an authentic resort that ranks in the top 10 of the snowiest ski resorts.

A station on a human scale

Created by shepherds in 1960, the resort of La Rosière is an authentic destination. This hamlet was previously home to alpine chalets in stone and lauze. From the start of the Poletta ski lift on 23 December 1960, the resort of La Rosière will continue to develop with the creation of the ski area, subdivisions and ski lifts to the Fort de la Redoute.

Whether you are looking for mountain adventures, a romantic getaway or a family holiday, La Rosière welcomes you with its breathtaking views, warm atmosphere and varied activities.

Family and children

La Rosière has owned the Famille Plus Montagne label for over 10 years. This distinction rewards ski resorts that set up structures and activities to accommodate families and children under 12. Animations, specific rates, quality of reception, La Rosière welcomes families in winter and summer for unforgettable moments.

Sustainable development

La Rosière is a resort committed to protecting the environment. In particular, it signed a charter of 16 eco-commitments to reduce the impact of the station’s activity on the environment. Among these eco-commitments, there is the decrease in the speed of the ski lifts during low attendance, the limitation of the water and electricity resources, the decrease in the production of snow culture or the decrease in the fuel consumption of the groomers. In parallel, La Rosière is committed to preserving fragile natural environments as well as protected species such as the grouse. Finally, it wants to plant 1,500 trees over 3 years to restore natural regulators to our ecosystem.

La Dolce Vita

Throughout the season, the resort of La Rosière sets up the Dolce Vita offer which includes the 2-day Espace San Bernardo package, a night in a hotel in La Thuile in Italy and access to the thermal baths of Pré-Saint-Didier located in the Aosta Valley. The resort makes every effort to make you discover the Italian culture and enjoy a unique experience between France and Italy.

Espace San Bernardo

Espace San Bernardo is a unique ski area linking France and Italy. Thanks to its double southern and northern exposure, it guarantees exceptional snow coverage throughout the season.  The very first France/ Italy connection took place in 1985 following an agreement between the municipalities of Séez, Montvalezan and La Thuile. La Rosière then became an international ski area. Today, Espace San Bernardo is:

  • 154 km of slopes;
  • the 13th French ski area;
  • 80% of trails above 850m altitude;
  • 27 km of snowshoe hiking trails.
