Thierry hired from Ski Republic

“In the winter holidays last year, I was supposed to spend a week in Les Deux Alpes with my daughter. She had never been skiing and I had to find equipment for her. And for me!

Of course I was attracted by the 2 for 1 offer at Ski Republic. I’m not much of an expert and I thought all skis were pretty much the same, so I chose more or less at random on the internet. No problem.

In just a few minutes we had booked our skis, boots, and learned that everything else, including my daughter’s helmet, would be thrown in. The only thing I paid for by credit card were my own skis !

When we reached Les Deux Alpes, we went straight to the shop. Everything was ready for us and the shop assistant gave us loads of tips about this huge ski resort, which I hadn’t been to before.

Towards the middle of the week, my daughter wanted to have a go at snowboarding. We went back to change our skis and our friendly shop assistant found her a special ‘easy’ beginner’s snowboard. As for me, he suggested I try one at a higher level than the beginner’s skis I’d chosen. There really was a difference—not all skis are the same and the way you look after them is crucial!

So while my daughter was taking her first lessons, I got the chance to go for it on quality skis.”
