La Rosière: The Franco-Italian resort

Located at 1850 meters above sea level, the resort of La Rosière will allow you to recharge your winter sports holiday. The history of the resort goes back to 1920 when a group of young skiers decided to create the Montvalezan Sports Union and in 1960, the first ski competitions were organized. It was in 1985 that the crossing of the border was possible thanks to the construction of the Chardonnet chairlift. Thus was born the first international ski area bordering Italy. Summer activity began in 1960 with the creation of the very first holiday centre in the Eucherts.

Coming to La Rosière is hurtling down quality Franco-Italian slopes, with exceptional snowfall all winter long. With an incredible panorama of the whole valley and on Mont Blanc, you enjoy a skiing holiday in an authentic village and typically Savoyard. From gentle slopes to more committed slopes, the area appeals to all types of skiers, from piste skiing to off-piste. Charming and authentic, the Rosière has two areas: the central village and the new village of the Eucherts. Both are connected by free shuttles. Throughout the winter, the resort organizes many events such as La Rosière Freeride Week, a 100% freeride event with international competitions like the Freeride World Qualifier. Finally, you can take part in the Trail Blanc or the Balade du Roc Noir, a ski-hiking climb at the front.

Espace San Bernardo: French-Italian ski area

Discover a wide variety of slopes on the La Rosière ski area. The Espace San Bernardo is unique and offers to ski on both the French and Italian slopes. The estate is connected to the resort of La Thuile offering a double north and south exposure for an unforgettable skiing experience. This link allows skiers to enjoy a large playground with panoramic views and a special moment with Mont Blanc. 152 km of trails are offered to pass from the Upper Tarentaise valley to the Val d'Aosta.

Ski touring routes are available for off-piste enthusiasts. They allow you to escape through powder fields in the heart of a wild and unspoiled nature. From 300 to 1100 meters of vertical drop, you will reach the summits and discover the mountain in a different way. Finally, pedestrian trails and cross-country ski runs are available with 6 km of pistes and to alternate skating and not alternative.

La Rosiere: a lot of thrills

On the ski area, dive into a Nordic universe with the igloo village of 130 m2. At the foot of the Plan du Repos chairlift, Ice bar or snow sculptures await you for a moment of extreme thrill!

Mont-Valaisan: the freeride zone

Since 2018, the ski resort of La Rosière has created a freeride zone and new slopes served by detachable chairlifts. With a high point of 2,800 metres, this secure and marked off-piste space ensures exceptional snow throughout the season. In addition, these slopes will appeal to seasoned skiers with a technical side and committed slopes.

Come and share unforgettable family moments on a wide variety of trails. Enjoy Italian dishes on the La Thuile side and have fun in the forest on the playful area of Petit Saint-Bernard. Funny modules and a fun course will delight adults and children alike. Skiing or snowboarding, La Rosière is a resort that appeals to all riders and snowboard enthusiasts. Labeled "Family Plus" is an ideal destination to give up memories and enjoy the many activities in the resort. In the Tarentaise valley, discover also the family resort of Sainte-Foy Tarentaise, only a few kilometres away.

The eco-responsible resort

Faced with the many current ecological challenges, the ski resort of La Rosière has implemented several actions to reduce its environmental footprint. In order to preserve its wild nature and the sensitive environments of the ski area, La Rosière created its own Environmental Observatory in 2014 to better reference the flora and fauna. In partnership with the Vanoise National Park and the Observatory of Mountain Galliforms, the resort protects the amphibians present on the estate, the lizards of the walls or the grouse-lyre on the edge of the woods of the mountain areas. In addition, La Rosière makes it a point of honour to highlight its pastures and its farm by creating a cohabitation with the herders for their animals. Finally, a re-vegetation policy was put in place a few years ago to limit erosion and optimize soil cover.
