Alpe d'Huez 1860

On a beautiful south facing plateau at an altitude of 1860m, the village and ski area of Alpe d’Huez is bathed in sunshine for much of the season.

For our smallest visitors there is a crèche ‘Les Intrépids’ to look after those between the ages of 6 months and 4 years.  Both the French and International ski schools also offer packages to look after your children (skiing, lunch, play etc).

They’ve also thought about non-skiers with 35kms of dedicated walking paths, skidoo and piste-tractor rides, ice-climbing, guided tours, ice-rink, two swimming pools, ice-driving and much more including the full array of spa treatments for wellbeing and relaxation (massage, sauna, rejuvenating baths…).

Ski Area

Alpe d’Huez is part of the Grand Domaine which groups together the five resorts of Auris-en-Oisans, La Garde, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and Villard-Reculas.  Spread over varied altitudes up to 2230m, the ski area comprises 120 pistes covering 240km and hosts a number of diverse fun areas such as snow parks, bordercross, night skiing, beginner areas and more.

There are also 4 legendary pistes , each descending 2000m in one go, including the famous Sarenne, the longest piste in the world, guaranteed snow all season over its entire 16km length.

Pistes:  41 Green, 38 Blue, 39 Red, 17 Black and 1 Night skiing piste.

You can easily access the resort from Grenoble via the A480 motorway in the direction of Sisteron/Gap (Exit 8: Vizille – Stations de L’Oisans).  There are frequent busses and taxis available from the train station and Grenoble Airport but also Geneva, Chambery and Lyon.
